On-site Registration
All Coaches/Managers must register their team at the 2008
Tournament Headquarters -
Needham Sheraton Hotel, 100 Cabot Street Needham, Massachusetts
02494 at LEAST one hour prior to their first game.
NOTE: This is a change in location from past tournaments.
Registration will be open from 4 PM - 9 PM on Friday the 23rd and
7:30 AM - 11 AM on Saturday the 24th. For teams who are not playing
their first game until late on Saturday you can register at the
information booth at DeFazio Park after 12 PM. Please note
registration will be unavailable between 11 AM and 12 PM on Saturday
the 24th as we switch over from the Sheraton to DeFazio Park. Please
plan accordingly and we strongly encourage all teams to register
Friday night or Saturday morning at the Sheraton.
For those of you who have their first game at 7:40 AM Saturday
morning please make every attempt to register on Friday evening. If
this is impossible please contact the tournament director.
You will need to bring the following to on-site registration:
- Proof of player age for all rostered players. Can be
official player pass cards, birth certificates, driver licenses,
or similar proof of age.
- Medical Release Forms. If you have mailed them to us we will
have already checked you off but you should bring a copy just to be safe. If you have not mailed them or have
new players on your roster you must bring a copy with you to
registration. No player will be allowed to participate in the
tournament unless they have a signed medical release form.
- A copy of your final roster (including guest players). It
does not need to be an official version but you should have a
typed list of all your players.
Patch Tournament
The tournament is a "patch" tournament with all teams
exchanging patches after each match. All teams should bring 100
patches with them.
Games
Official rosters will not be needed before each game as they are on
record with the tournament. Please note that there is no stoppage
time. If there is an injury or play is stopped the clock continues
to run no matter how long the stoppage is for. The next game will
start on time.
Guest Players
Up to 5 guest players are allowed. More can be added with the
permission of the tournament committee. Guest players are allowed as
long as they meet the age requirements for the team they are playing
on, they have proof of age, and they have a signed medical release
form.
Sportsmanship Awards
One again we will be giving out an award to the boys and girls team
who display the best overall sportsmanship during the tournament.
The officials will grade each team and awards will be given out on
Monday.
Weather
The tournament will be played in inclement weather. We will only
postpone/cancel games if the field conditions become dangerous.
